My biology background and many years of experience working with doctors, patients and healthcare professionals makes me the ideal creative partner for your medical communications. I have written and directed over 200 drama and documentary programmes about medicine, surgery and patient care. I also devise and direct 2 & 3D process and Mode of Action animations.
Roche Diagnostics manufactures a test for the Human Papilloma Virus which causes cervical cancer. The test is applied to abnormal smears and allows doctors to refine their treatment options. Roche needed three dramatised scenarios to show GPs how to explain the HPV test to patients. I wrote the scenarios and conducted off-camera interviews with the consultants. (Mediapool)

Understanding Prostate Disease is a nationwide project to help patients recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) make the right treatment choices for them. Comprehensive video presentations featuring doctors and patients and presented by newscaster Martin Lewis go over the treatment options. I wrote the programmes and directed the interviews with the doctors and patients. (Pukka Films)
The GE IN Cell Analyzer is the fusion of modern cell biology, automated high resolution microscopy and robotic handling techniques and is central to the activities of a wide variety of academic laboratories and pharmaceutical research groups. This sales promotion video for GE Healthcare will be used to promote the technology. (HMX Productions)
A Video News Reel (VNR) for GlaxoSmithKline about the benefits of vaccination against Human Papilloma Virus to prevent cervical cancer. I conducted a series of interviews in English and French with women who had been diagnosed with cancer and who spoke about the importance of vaccinating young girls. (House Media)
Edwards Life Sciences is the leading manufacturer of prosthetic heart valves. I worked on themeing and content for the 2011 International Sales Meeting. My theme One HEART, One COMPANY proved such a success it has since been developed into a branded internal communication campaign. I also filmed one of the operations which was featured on French TV. Boehringer Ingelheim created a new division to produce biosimilars of anti-cancer drugs. Biosimilars are close copies of molecules that have passed out of patent that offer similar efficacy at lower cost. These drugs must undergo clinical trials and BI required a video to explain the protocol. I covered these issues in an off-camera interview with the lead consultant from the Royal Marsden Hospital. Ferring Pharmaceuticals specialises in peptide drugs and biological medicines. I wrote two corporate videos to describe the company’s history and development as well as a public awareness video about a new testosterone blocker Firmagon for the treatment of late stage prostate cancer. (House Media)
DOCET The Directorate of Optometric Continuing Education & Training (DOCET) produces training materials for optometrists. I wrote a comedy featuring the optometrist from hell to reveal the importance of good communication skills.
